Terms of Use

lets-talk – Conversation Coach · Operated by kensaurus合同会社 · Last updated 14 October 2026

These terms govern your use of lets-talk. They are written to be readable, not to bury anything.

1. Acceptance

By using lets-talk on the website, in the iOS app, or in the Android app (the "Service") you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

lets-talk is a practice tool for hard everyday conversations with a friend, coworker, parent, or partner, based on Nonviolent Communication. You can score a draft, get reply suggestions, and rehearse with an AI character. Easy mode and Field notes work without AI. The Service is for adults (see the Privacy Policy) and is provided "as is", on a best-effort basis with no uptime guarantee.

3. AI Coaching

Hard scoring, Role-play, and Advise are written by Claude, an AI model from Anthropic. Nothing you type is sent to the AI until you allow it, as the Privacy Policy explains. AI coaching is paid for by the coaching included on each device, by credits, or by an Anthropic API key you supply. If you use your own key, Anthropic bills that key under its own terms.

AI replies can be wrong, one-sided, or a poor fit for your situation. lets-talk is a practice and coaching tool. It is not therapy, counselling, or legal, medical, or any other professional advice. You decide what to say to the people in your life, and you send it yourself, outside the app. If you or someone else is in danger, contact your local emergency services.

4. Credits and Purchases

5. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes only.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

7. User Content

You retain all rights to what you write. Drafts and transcripts stay on your device. When you use AI coaching through us, you grant us only the limited technical right to relay your text to Anthropic to produce the reply. We do not store it, and it is not used to train models. If you report an AI reply, we keep what you send with the report so we can review it.

8. Source Code

The source code of the Service is proprietary. These Terms give you no rights to it.

9. What We Don't Promise

We work to keep the Service running and its coaching useful, but we can't promise that it will always be available or free of errors, or that every defect will be fixed. What we are responsible for when something goes wrong is set out in section 10.

10. Our Liability to You

If we harm you on purpose or through gross negligence, we are fully liable under the law. If we harm you through ordinary negligence, we are liable only for the direct and ordinary damage it causes, up to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the harm happened or ¥10,000. This limit never applies to death or personal injury.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or are abusing the infrastructure. You may stop using the Service at any time, and you can delete your data or your account from Settings.

12. Changes

We may change these Terms when the Service or the law changes. Before a change takes effect, we post the new Terms on this page with the date it takes effect. If the change is significant, we also tell you in the app.

13. Law and Disputes

Japanese law governs these Terms. If there is a dispute, the Tokyo District Court hears it first. If you use lets-talk as a consumer, this doesn't take away the protection the law of the country where you live gives you, or your right to bring a claim in a court there or in any other court the law lets you use. Before going to court, please email us. Most problems are easier to fix that way.
